How relevant is your association to today’s needs?
Tom Abbott lives in Singapore but owns and runs an association management company based in Canada. Not only could we learn a great deal from Tom about how to manage staff and business across continents, time zones and cultures, but Tom also has a wealth of experience in sales and association management.
One of the main issues we discussed was how relevant an association is in today’s climate. While we know that many businesses are collapsing because of the pandemic, and that some associations are facing the same fate, Tom is sure that if an association has relevance and values for its members and the sector that it serves, that it would be able to fine a way to survive. But the along with a number of good organisations, ones that will certainly fail to last will be those that do not serve the needs of their constituency.
